Savage VFC is proud to be able to offer a live scanner feed of Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (DFRS) radio communications traffic.

Howard County operates on a trunked 800MHz digital Motorola system, replacing a 150MHz analog system that consisted of four primary channels (F1-F4). Dispatch is still simulcast in the 150MHz band to provide tones for station alerting systems and pagers. We only provide a feed for 800MHz dispatch because we are able to obtain a cleaner signal, which unfortunately means our broadcast does not provide the alert tones heard in the stations.

Our feed currently consists of A1 (Dispatch), A2 (OPS1), A3 (OPS2), and the tactical channels (B1-B7, C1-C7, D1-D7). These channels are scanned, so any channel containing activity may be broadcast. The feed is an mp3 stream that may be listened to with most popular media players, such as WinAmp, Windows Media Player, RealPlayer, and iTunes.
