On Tuesday, December 20, 2022, four members of the Savage Volunteer Fire Company participated in the annual Chanukkah menorah candle lighting sponsored by the Chabad of Greater Laurel. Following the menorah lighting, firefighters dropped hundreds of gelt (chocolate candy) and dreidels (ritual spinning tops) from Truck 6 for children to collect. This is the fourth year that the Savage Volunteer Fire Company has helped with the candle lighting and gelt drop.
